Windermere Homes for Sale

Windermere is a very small area on the North East edge of Seattle. It was named after the lake district surrounding Windermere Lake in England because both are similar in their natural beauty. Windermere is right beneath Magnuson Park and Sand Point, giving it easy access to the trails and outdoor opportunities of Magnuson, including the Birke-Gilman Trail. Windermere also has its own small park, Windermere Park, at the southern border of the neighborhood which includes green space, public tennis courts and a basketball court and a boat launch. This is truly a wonderful neighborhood for any outdoor enthusiast who enjoys beautiful views and beautiful homes.

Winderemere is often conflated with Sand Point, and the area includes some of Sand Point’s namesake institutions, such as the Sand Point Elementary School, Sand Point Grill, or the winding Sand Point Way, but it’s distinguished mostly by being in a sort of enclave created by the urban topography of winding streets that enclose the homes to either side of Sand Point Way.

Many of the Windermere homes are some of the most luxurious in Seattle. The homes along the shore are particularly lavish, but private pools, boat launches, and tennis courts are very common among all the high-end homes in this neighborhood. However, there are also many condominiums that are much more affordable for some families yet enjoy the same neighborhood amenities (like the gorgeous and abundant tree cover!).
